Before diving into the details, we recommend you see our FAQ page for answers to some of the most common questions we receive.

Application deadlines

Our priority application deadline is January 15. After that, we have two further deadlines, after which we’ll review any applications submitted since the previous deadline. Note:

  • Students applying for the must apply by January 15.
  • Our final application deadline for domestic applicants is June 15; international applicants must apply by March 15 to allow sufficient time to obtain a visa prior to the start of autumn quarter if offered admission.

Application opens in October

Our application typically opens in October (for enrollment the following autumn). We recommend starting your application (i.e., establishing your account/profile in the ) at your earliest convenience, even if you don’t plan to finalize and submit your application until early January. Doing so will leave you ample time to ask questions or reach out to us for assistance if you encounter any issues, and it will also allow you to designate your recommenders early and give them plenty of time to submit their recommendations.

  • You may want to wait to submit your application until at least mid-to-late December; once you submit your application, you will be unable to make any changes to your application materials.

Full-time, in-person

Museology is a full-time, in-person program. We are unable to offer remote or hybrid modalities, and our program isn’t designed to be completed while working full-time. Museology students must be enrolled in a minimum of 10 academic credits per quarter to maintain their status as a Museology student.

  • Museology utilizes a cohort model. Typically, our cohorts consist of around 30 students.
  • All admitted students commence study in the Autumn Quarter.
