Healthy Aging Spring Lecture
As our bodies age, we require fewer calories but just as many nutrients. Performing this age-defying trick calls for eating nutrient-dense foods.
Nutritionist Cynthia Lair will talk about this challenge in the Healthy Aging Spring Lecture at 1:30 p.m. Thursday, May 26, in Hogness Auditorium at the Health Sciences Center. The lecture, free and open to everyone, is sponsored by the de Tornyay Center for Healthy Aging and the UW School of Nursing.
Lair will talk about how to use whole foods to aid digestion, and to break the habit of eating sweets and convenience foods. As Lair, a member of the nutrition faculty at Bastyr University, says, some whole foods like miso, cheese and pickles develop a livelier, deeper character as they age 鈥 let your friends say the same about you!
